Inauguration in Tacon Decor of a photovoltaic installation formed by more than 3,000 solar panels
A photovoltaic installation will be inaugurated at Tacon Decor shortly. This installation is formed by more than 3,000 solar panels that will produced 640,000 kwh of electricity per year. It will avoid the emission of 330 tons of CO2, 1276 Kg/year of S02 and 963 Kg/year of NOx.
This installation is the biggest roof installation of solar panels in Burgos, and indeed the province.
This annual production of 640,000 kwh would provide the electrical energy necessary for the city of Burgos for 5 days or the city of Lerma for one year.
The CO2 emissions per year that are avoided, thanks to the use of this clean energy, are equivalent to 37.8 hectares (93,400 acres) of woods.
The panels positioned on the Tacon Decor plants represent an investment of 2.6 million Euros.
The installation consists of more than three thousand 25 watt solar panels, with an average intensity of 7.2 amps. Each photovoltaic panel contains 48 polycrystalline cells which generate a 25 volt DC output.
Five Ingeteam 100 KW inverters are responsible for DC to AC conversion. The electricity leaves the inverters at 380 volts and goes to a transformer where it is converted to 45,000 volts. The power generated from the cells at Tacon Decor is supplied to the Industrial Estate Gamonal Villayuda power grid, where important companies of the region are located.
At Tacon Decor we intend to maintain investments in these kinds of facilities. At the same time, we have taken actions to reduce electricity and water consumption by 20% over the next 5 years. These initiatives are part of Tacon Decor’s commitment to renewable energies and to the protection of the environment.
